Blue Blazes Trail

If you’re searching for a shorter trail that still has great views, you can explore the Blue Blazes Trail right here in Chattanooga. This trail is a two-mile loop that features ancient shorelines as well as forests and swamps. There’s even an outlook that offers views of the Tennessee River during your hike! This hike is kid-friendly and for all skill levels, and you can even take your dog provided you keep them on a leash. If you don’t own a dog but would love to share a hike with an adoptable dog in Chattanooga, find out more about the Trailblazers Club with the McKamey Animal Center.

Cumberland Trail

If you’re feeling a little more ambitious, you can hit up Cumberland Trail for over 200 miles of hiking on the eastern edge of Tennessee’s Cumberland Plateau. This is an ongoing hiking project that is being built over time. Once it is completed, it will boast over 300 miles of trails to explore! The Cumberland Trail is a part of the larger Great Eastern trail, which will extend from Alabama to New York once completed.

Signal Point Trail

Perhaps the best view of the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Signal Point Trail is an option for those who want a more moderate hike. This Chattanooga hiking trail is 5.1 miles long and is located by Signal Mountain in Tennessee. It’s accessible year-round, and visitors primarily use it for hiking and walking. Feel free to bring your furry friend if you keep them on a leash!

Ropers Rock and Bluff Trail from Point Park

If you’re in need of another moderate hiking trail option, check out Bluff Trail! This option is about 8.9 miles long and offers some great views thanks to the wide variety of wildflowers that grow in the area. This out-and-back route trail is accessible year-round and offers many different activity options. You can also bring your dog to this trail, as well as partake in running, walking, hiking, bird-watching, or simply taking in the great views.
